As already mentioned, the VYPYR doesn't have it's own ASIO driver so you have to use the aftermarket ASIO4ALL driver. To use it with Studio One, you'll need supply an ASIO driver. The USB Audio Out on the amp works with Reaper because Reaper supports Direct X / WDM (Windows default Audio device driver that does not offer low latency). Peavey does not (and probably won't) supply an ASIO driver with the VYPYR, because it is a discontinued product according to the product page. The ASIO driver is most often supplied by the manufacturer of the Audio device you are using. Windows does not support ASIO natively, instead it has a default device driver for USB Audio devices called Direct X/MME also referred to as WDM, so the ASIO driver must be added to the system. On a Windows PC however, Studio One needs to see an ASIO device driver. Pro Tools is a Mac centric program so I can see why the guys at Peavey Tech Support would say it works on their DAW.

Don't worry, the output is microphone/cabinet simulated and will sound great right into your computer. Open your favorite recording program and start recording. Just plug a standard USB cable into your computer and it will detect your VYPYR as an audio device. The VYPYR USB Record out requires no drivers. I did some investigation as this has come up in support but not in the forum, so I'm publishing the resolution to this here.Īccording to the Peavey Manual for the Vypyr (pg 11) it says Which is a different story and a little more complicated. Core Audio Framework for your device) is not setup, then the device will not show up when connected either. If you have no ASIO driver installed on your system, then it will not show up in the list on Studio One 2.
